CAME AMERICAS - 2010
Surrounded by office/warehouse condominiums, the owner and architect desired a modern looking facility that would stand out from others in the area. The inspiration for the building was Art Deco to emphasize the company’s Miami roots with some contemporary design to demonstrate the company’s move to the new age. Circles and rounded edges were combined with contemporary straight lines to create a template that includes a multitude of possibilities for future use.
Tilt-Up was selected because the method offers the capability of having a smooth finished product that conventional construction methods did not allow.
One interesting feature is the automated Urbaco bollards, which complement the CAME gate automation equipment. In addition, circles were cast into the panels as reveals or
displaying completely open circles. The curved walls that come out as fins also have an open-circle feature. Movement was created by locating panels in different plains and heights as well as perpendicular.
